Those pilots who successfully master the basic controls could continue to use Clearview to develop their skills into sport flying and the beginnings of basic 3-D. The following part of Ashley Davis' CONCLUSION Ĭlearview represents a low cost solution that will help the pilots to progress past the frustration point in learning to fly today’s RC helicopters. Clearview is no different to any other simulator in that there are a huge number of parameters that can be adjusted to change the flight characteristics of the displayed model. Each of these models has its own set of flight parameters designed to allow the model to be tweaked to accurately represent the flight characteristics of the real model.

I think Im gonna get it.Īs a previous owner of G3.5 and user of Clearview, Realflight G2 currently training on AeroFly Pro Deluxe - IMO agree with the review by Ashley Davis Clearview Review posted back in December 2006 regarding "The question is where this simulator sits in the current crop which range from free simulators like FMS to high end retail simulators like Reflex, G3 or Phoenix". I already spent a bunch on spare parts, so $30 is really nothing at this point. Remember, ask ten folks a question and probably get ten different answers. So, go for it.can't hurt.Īnd hope you have a near by LHS, Club with heli pilots willing to teach. I'm learning that no matter what you fly and at what level you get what you put intoo this hobby. But, like you 's only $30.ĭefinately check out the Clearview Review link that ajenkins posted.īut it sounds like you just want to know if it's worth the $30 bucks or if your going to get anything out of it. you can get a few Blade packs for $30 bucks too and yes you're going to need some of those anyway.

Now I can't remember if the zoom was active in the demo, but it's the F5 and F6 keys. I attached to pics of the xrbLama and Blade CX that fly pretty well.

there are some good ones, planes and helis. There are many folks designing aircraft for this sim too and I have to say. Email them any question and see if they don't reply, quickly. Not much to compare when speaking of simulators in comparison, but Clearview in my opinion is very good and get a lot for the $30, to include good support from Clearview. The Clearview RC FS is absolutely "OK", a small investment that can help with the learning curve and possibly develop a bit of confidence on the control sticks. Also, if you learn to fly the regular helis in the sim the Lama will seem easy by comparison. ClearView has a Blade CX model in it, and the CX is similar enough to the Lama that it'd be good for practice. I bought a CoCo Lama 3 for my brother last year and have flown it a few times. Nothing expensive has broken yet though, and now I never crash it unless I'm purposefully pushing my limits by trying to fly it into really small spaces and such.

I've gone through about 8 top and bottom blades since I bought it, plus broke the rotor head. I actually got a Blade CX first, which is similar to the CoCo Lama. The lama is still hard to fly for no offense meant. That said, here's a pretty detailed review of ClearView. Just order some extra upper and lower blades with it when you buy it. If you're talking about the CoCo Lama coaxial heli, I'd say the lama is so easy to fly that you don't really need to practice in a sim first.
